What are Regulatory Courses?
Regulatory courses have content that you can use to train your workforce on key healthcare regulations. Compliancy Group’s regulatory course library contains a series of regulatory courses. These are:

1. HIPAA Annual Training Course

2. Fraud, Waste and Abuse Annual Training Course

3. Certified MACRA-MIPS Healthcare Professional Course (token purchase required)

4. Certified HIPAA Security Professional Course (token purchase required)
5. HIPAA Security Awareness Training Course
6. Medical Malpractice Legal Basics Proficiency Certificate (token purchase required)

7. Medical Cannabis Regulatory Proficiency Certificate (token purchase required)

8. ONC 21st Century Cures Act Proficiency Certificate (token purchase required)
9. GDPR Compliance Training

These courses can serve as ideal training materials for providers or vendors who want their employees to be trained in the basic subject matter of frequently encountered healthcare laws and regulations.

For more information about these courses, please view our course catalog by clicking on the Training tab on the left-hand nav panel of the homepage of The Guard, and then clicking on the Browse Course Catalog tab.

What Courses Should I Purchase?
Compliancy Group is unable to give advice on what courses an organization should purchase. When deciding which courses to purchase, providers and vendors should consider their organizational risks, and whether purchasing a course can reduce these risks.

What is a Course Token?
You can think of a token as the cost of a course. Tokens are available for your organization to purchase. Most courses cost one token per individual. Some courses cost more than one token per individual.

The Guard’s course catalog contains tabs for “Standard Courses,”  “Premium Course” courses, and “Learning Paths” courses. Clicking on a tab brings up a list of courses for that tab. Standard courses do not require token purchase. All Premium Courses, and some of the Learning Paths Courses, require token purchase. The cost (number of tokens that must be purchased) is listed for each course.

How Does Token Purchase Work?
Organizations must purchase tokens and then apply the tokens toward a given course. Tokens can be purchased up front in the desired quantity. If you decide to purchase, say, 200 tokens, you begin with a balance of 200 tokens (in the same way that if you purchase a $25 gift card, the card begins with a $25 balance). Each time you apply the tokens toward selection of a course, the token value for that course is subtracted from the total token balance.

For example, one of the courses is a “Certified EHR Management Professional” course. This course costs five tokens. Say that you wanted to purchase this course for five of your employees. The cost for this purchase would be 25 tokens (5 tokens per employee times five employees). If you began with a balance of 200 tokens, 25 tokens would be subtracted from this balance, resulting in a remaining balance of 175 tokens. Once the toke nbalance reaches zero, additional tokens may be purchased for as many courses and for as many employees as needed.
